Members of the RNLI Coastal Review team were in Donaghadee yesterday (Wednesday 5th) to carry out a formal review of the Lifeboat station.
The team comprised Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, Operations Director George Rawlinson, Robin Middleton, William Everard and Gareth Morrision, Divisional Operations Manager.
The team met with station management, volunteer lifeboat crew and fundraisers to hear first hand how the team had performed over the last five years and the plans for the station in the future.
They looked at the lifeboat and equipment used at the station and asked about the types of callouts the crew respond to, and also enquired about the type of training the team have undergone. They were also keen to hear about the recruitment campaign the station is running.
