SEVERAL hundred people braved the Met Office weather warnings and turned out to enjoy Donaghadee’s RNLI Lifeboat Festival on Saturday August 2.
The parachute sky-diving display, raft race and open day aboard the all-weather lifeboat Saxon were postponed for safety reasons as storms lashed the harbour and roads were flooded. But people from as far away as Randalstown and Omagh queued to visit the lighthouse and enjoy the market stalls which were brought indoors to the town community centre. Music was provided by ‘Jackie Flavelle with 251’ and the Donaghadee Community Choir.
