Donaghadee lifeboat golf day took place last Friday 6th Sept at Donaghadee G.C.with over sixty golfers playing in aid of their local lifeboat. The course was in great condition and the weather stayed fair for most of the day. There were lots of good scores with Greg Donley winning the men’s competition on the back six with 40pts from Tommy Fulton. Julie Kerr with 34pts made it a hat trick of wins, followed home by C.J. Dunwoody on 31pts.
Winners of the 13 hole senior competition were Peter Alcock with 30pts, and Doris Rowan 19pts.
Nearest the pin was Nessa Morton with Garth Boyd cleaning up by winning both the best gross and longest drive. A helicopter search is still in progress for four crew from the station who were supposedly under the watchful eye of caddy DLA Michael Reid!!!. Lifeboat Press Officer Peter Alcock thanked the club for use of the course as well as sponsors Roy Butler, Gordon Drew, Gordon’s Chemist, Grace Neill’s, Nevada Bob’s, Governor Rocks, Thornley Catering, Neale Jenkins for helping to organise the day and for all who supported the day.
